YCFOSA Chicago 2 & 3 - Update

Hello Friends,
I'm sitting in the studio on a momentary break from mixing "Peaches En Regalia" from Chicago 10-18-08. In a few more minutes it will be done. It's the last song that needs tweaking from the show.

This particular show has proven to be more difficult to mix because there was a technical problem with the show. A very low level was recorded from Ray's vocal mic. When his mic is raised through compression and other processes it brings up a lot of undesirable background elements with it. As a result the there are noticeable inconsistencies with the drums. TJ and I have been working on ways to improve this issue. In the long run you won't really notice it - but that is because I worked very hard to fix it!

Show number 3 has similar issues and is taking a little more time to balance. I was planning to upload both concerts at the same time but show 3 won't be ready until this next brief west coast tour is completed.

So the new plan is to upload Chicago 10-18-08 early next week. We still have more speaker translation tests to do as well as all of the MP3 encoding but that's it.

I'll write another update as soon as it is being uploaded.

In order to make sure everyone gets their bonus download - Chicago show #1 10-17-08 - you'll all need to make sure that you write to nugs and reconfirm your personal download code and be sure to give consent to receive a return e-mail from nugs. This way we can properly distribute the bonus codes. (I will have even more info on this process in the next blog.)

On another topic, all of the muting is done on all of the shows through Halloween. We're getting started on the mutes for the 09 YCFOSA shows next week as well. Hopefully all of that muting will be done in under a month.

At that point everything will be in place to do final mixes and get all of your souvenirs uploaded.
